Abstract

This work reports results of the chemical characterization of twenty-three samples of Roman glass fragments found during excavations in the archaeological site of Torvajanica (Rome - Italy). The samples were studied by scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM/EDX) and Laser Ablation Inductively-Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS), with the aim to determine major and trace elements concentrations. The chemical characterization allowed to obtain information on the technology of glass-making.
